We spent Passover in the Golan and had a great time. We rented a bungalow in a place called Nov where we have stayed a few times in the past. We hung out on Shabbos and the holidays and spent the rest of the time hiking and doing other activities. The entire Golan was covered with wild flowers, it was just gorgeous.
On Wednesday we hiked in the Odem forest for a few hours and hit Al'Jubat Al'Kebira on the way back. Al'Jubat Al'Kebira means "the big hole" in Arabic (I think) and it is basically just that, a very large crater.
Thursday we went to Mt. Bental which has a great view of the Golan and Syria. It was a bit overcast so we did not get to enjoy the view so much. Mt. Bental was a Syrian encampment before '67 and Yosef and I walked through the ditches and bunkers. After the mountain we went to Birkat Ram which is a big pond and then we went on a tour of a chocolate factory.
Friday, Rachel and Feri stayed at the bungalow and Adina, Yosef and I went canoeing on the Jordan river followed by arts and crafts activities.
Sunday, we hiked along the Zavitan river, which was absolutely spectacular. Rachel's student Tamar joined us for this one. On the hike we had a small birthday party for Yosef and when we got home we had one for Feri.

Sounds like a great trip. We would really love a copy (or 2) of the photo of Adina & Yosef holding Atara - can you download into our snapfish?
love,
